What is Oriental Flow?
Oriental Flow is a new class at Shoonya taught by Nathalie El Ghoul — an Ecuadorian-Lebanese dance artist with over 30 years of experience in performance and education. Her work is rooted in traditional Middle Eastern dance, enriched by contemporary movement and somatic practices. The class explores musicality, fluidity, and expressive presence in a hybrid language where traditional and modern movement coexist.

Ecuadorian-Lebanese Oriental dance artist and teacher with over 30 years of international experience in performance and education. Her work is deeply rooted in traditional Middle Eastern dance, enriched by contemporary movement and somatic practices. Having trained with renowned masters across Egypt and Europe, Nathalie has developed a distinctive personal approach that emphasises musicality, fluidity, and expressive presence.

Oriental Flow is a technique that sits at the intersection of several practices I have been working with for years: contemporary dance and oriental dance, yoga, and somatic techniques that have helped me reconnect with my body, release tension, and find some flow.
