Discover the joyful and graceful style of Colombianas during this unique flamenco workshop!
Learn how to use the fan to add elegance, beauty and expression to your dance.

The fan was used as an elegant going-out attribute and for refreshment in the heat. But secretly, it could serve to convey feelings and hidden passions.
In flamenco dance, it is traditionally used in Guajiras and Colombianas, flamenco styles of the ‘Ida y Vuelta’, with South American influences.

Flamenco fans for dance come in two sizes: standard (24cm) and pericón (33cm).
Traditionally, the ‘abanico pericón’ was used for flamenco dance, but both sizes have their own character for dance. In this workshop, we work with the small one to master the fan technique - larger fans are harder to move and require more strength and practice than smaller ones. Important: they can break easily, especially if dropped! If you buy one yourself, it is therefore better to order 2 right away.
